Movie Date: Iron Man 3

The third franchise of the movie, Iron Man 3, premiered  today (April 25) in Philippine theaters.  Directed by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, Ben Kingsley, Paul Bettany, James Badge Dale and Jon Favreau.

I truly enjoyed the metallic hero Tony Stark's latest adventure in this movie, it was indeed an exciting ride that never loses its humor alongside the expertly melds action scenes.  The lines and spills were cleverly delivered and the state-of-the-art special effects are wow-worthy. Being a romantic fool that I am, I am also giving credits to the love story of Stark and Potts which for me gives the balance to the other elements that I mentioned to make it a recommended movie for everyone.

The "Barrel of Monkeys" scene is my son and I favorite.  Indeed, we had fun watching the “Iron Man 3” in big screen.  Iron Man 3 has some great twists and turns for my liking, you’ll have to find it for yourself! Thanks to the company-sponsor who provided us complimentary tickets, the AppLabs and through a blogger fellow, Richard Mamuyac :).

Watch for the Iron Man 3, now showing in cinemas nationwide!

Julie Anne San Jose celebrates her journey with a major concert

She’s young, she’s fresh and she has an amazing set of talents that wows me every time I watch her on TV and even on YouTube.  These and more makes Julie Anne San Jose truly a worthy diva to watch for in this generation.

Julie Anne is indeed shining her best, backed up by a huge and passionate followers that grow on a daily basis, it’s very easy to be mesmerized by her refreshing aura, a charm that is very contagious. She has definitely come a long way, far from a struggling 11-year old kid who fought for her passion against her father’s disapproval of the showbiz path she’s taking. And because the kid is beyond driven, she has finally proved her worth, not just to her family but to all the fans who believed in her.

Hot Off the Press! Sumo Sam’s Olympia, Makati Avenue Branch is now open!

If there’s one kind of cuisine that’s popping up a lot in Makati Avenue area, it’s definitely Japanese! Sumo Sam is definitely the place that will satisfy our cravings for the Japanese cuisines as it opens its 25th store at the centrally located Olympia building in Makati Avenue.

Following the tenet of ‘Big Is Beautiful’, Sumo Sam Olympia is the biggest location to date with about 300 sqm of dining space.   The set up is also a bit of a departure from the fast casual dining restaurant that Sumo Sam usually has.  Some of the chairs have been replaced with comfortable sofas with throw pillows, making it not only an ideal place for dining but also for lounging and spending more time with friends and family over food, wine, cocktails, coffee and desserts.

Great performance for Mercedes Cabral in ‘Bad Romance’ movie; Opens today in cinemas

Mercedes Cabral leads the cast of yet another great independent film under the direction of Ian del Carmen, which opens today in cinemas nationwide.  Cabral played the role of Andrea Maglalang who is a hotel receptionist in Castaway Hotel where she met the person behind her greatest obsession, the movie star Sam Lloyd Pascual, played by Francis Lopez (Mr. Philippines 2011). If you think the movie is a love-centric with a Cinderella love story theme, well, I will say that it’s more than that!

Movie Feedback: It Takes A Man and A Woman

The feeling you get after watching “It Takes A Man and A Woman” – totally surreal! Being the big fan of Laida & Miggy love story, I cannot let this movie pass especially that everyone is raving about it. True to its director and casts’ claim, the movie will take us to the highest level of ‘kilig’ and fulfillment. I greatly appreciated the story and the conclusion of Laida Magtalas and Miggy Montenegro's love story and if I can only wish for a part 4, I will. But then again, ‘It Takes A Man and A Woman’ has already delivered beyond my expectations.  Director Cathy Garcia-Molina and the tandem of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo gave the best offering this summer season for the final installment of their movie and made sure that the public will love it. I definitely love it. I totally appreciate it!

GMA Network releases another breathtaking ‘Lupang Hinirang’ video in HD

After the release of its highly praised cinematic version of the Philippine national anthem in 2010, broadcast media giant GMA Network is set to launch another theatrical rendition of “Lupang Hinirang,” and it is expected to capture the attention of TV audience and moviegoers alike as it hits TV screens and movie theaters soon.

The 2013 version pays tribute to the heroes of today by drawing inspiration from the heroes of yesteryears. It opens with an artist sketching a portrait of Lapu Lapu, which seamlessly transforms into a colorful animation of the events that shaped Philippine history from the Battle of Mactan, which saw the defeat of the Spanish conquistadors in the hands of the natives, to the Cry of Pugad Lawin and the martyrdom of our national hero, Jose Rizal.

The main music of the national anthem begins as the heroes of the past are juxtaposed with modern heroes like the one portrayed by a fire fighter who braves the raging flames of a burning building in order to save an infant, a teacher who walks several miles to school daily to educate her pupils, a farmer who dutifully toils the land under the scorching heat of the sun to fend for his family, a traffic enforcer who continues to do his job despite being soaked in heavy rains, a doctor who compassionately attends to the medical needs of those in the barrios, overseas workers who endure being away from their loved ones in the hope of giving them a better future, an athlete who brings pride to his country, and several others. These depictions paint a very striking picture before the audience: that we are modern heroes in our own right and that’s something we should all be proud of.
