Movie Feedback: The Darkest Hour

It says “movie feedback”, because I'm not a hardcore and not really good in doing the most common "movie review" thing, I'm most of the time a patron who'd let go off of her guards and give in to something that fancies her. Like watching a movie, a film title must already have a convincing power for me to see it.  It's very rare in a year to see 5 films, that sucks I know, and since I don't frequent the cinemas much already compare to when I was still single, this movie must really have something good to offer, that’s what I thought.

So whenever a friend or I invite someone to watch a movie with, I make sure that the film shall be worth our money. In a case of a free movie treat, the fun part is still always the outcome of the film; the "free part" just comes as a bonus since the expense is not from my own pocket. 

I was invited for "The Darkest Hour" advance screening last Monday and I'm grateful to my blogger friend Ely and SM Supermalls for this. I am more than thankful that I didn't have to pay or else I would have felt I was short-changed after watching the movie especially that it was a 3D film.

City Hunter Advance Screening: A treat for Lee Min Ho Pinoy Fans

As I was one of the bloggers who came for the advance screening of ABS-CBN’s newest Korean series, there were also fans who were invited to the event. Some of them won online via the network’s facebook page. Most of them represent groups and fans club of the City Hunter lead star, which only proves that the Korean heartthrob Lee Min Ho has a solid followers here in the Philippines.

It was fun. There were food carts for the fans and photo booth. Inside the Dolphy Theater, the kids seem to be having fun and excited even if most of them already watched the series in DVDs and online channels. A group of fans from our back even wore masks like what Johnny Lee (Ho’s character) wear in the series, cool!

After a 2 or 3 hour screening, the fans were overjoyed and very much game for a video-recorded feedback about the show. No doubt, Lee Min Ho has already captured the hearts of so many Filipinos since “Boys Over Flowers” and one of my favorites, “Perfect Match”.

"Dahil Sa Pag-ibig" Photo Shoot with Piolo, Jericho, Maricar and Christine

UPDATE: Changed title of telesery from "Nang Dahil sa Pag-ibig" to "Dahil sa Pag-ibig)

An upcoming teleserye for ABS-CBN is made official last Monday, January 23 as the prime casts of "Dahil Sa Pag-ibig" did a photo shoot/announcement in ABS-CBN studio. The serye is top-billed by Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Maricar Reyes & Christine Reyes who was the recent one to join the casts. 

I believe some actors who will also be part of the show will be no less than Mr. Christopher De Leon, Denise Laurel and Rafael Rossel among others. No plot, story and character role descriptions are released yet for "Nang Dahil Sa Pag-ibig" but definitely, this is one big teleserye I'm sure everybody will look forward to this 2012. 

I was one of the privileged bloggers who got invited to the photoshoot-event and I actually enjoyed it. The four actors work so well with their photographers and stylists present  in the set by giving  their best shots in front of the camera lenses. I personally like the "happy mood" of Echo, he makes the atmosphere lighter in the set plus he accommodates our request for some photo-ops with him hahaha. I was also star struck with Piolo but he really seems quiet, and he seems really serious for this project. Maricar is very beautiful and I think her team-up with Jericho is something I would love to look forward to. Her chemistry with Jericho is also undeniable plus their faces exudes light aura that will make their turns in the shoot appears great on-cam. I can feel a certain "kilig" even when their just standing beside each other, I really hope their characters would really have that romantic sense because it's been a while since Echo had his own leading lady that marks a great partnership on-screen and something that the viewers would really enjoy. The other leading lady, Christine Reyes is no-question hot and pretty. It's my second time to see Christine in person and she's really nice and bubbly. I just can't decide yet whether her partnership with Piolo would also works as how she were with her previous leading men. But I guess, it would still depend on the story and their characters so its really too early to predict. We can only wish them good luck and probably wait when the camera started rolling.

The Good Old Days

Awww....because of this photo, I can absolutely claim that I have the best life of my young world! 

 

When I saw this yesterday circulating in facebook, I can't help but smile and suddenly reminisced on my childhood years. I remember my friends and the great times I had along with the memories of these cartoon shows I used to watch either at day or in the afternoon after a nap's time. Some of my top favorites were Peter Pan (the best), Sarah, Ang Munting Prinsesa, Cedie, Ang Munting Prinsipe, Mga Munting Pangarap ni Romeo and more.



Being a kid is so sweet. Now I'm already a mom myself, I wish there are still worthy children shows that the kids today can still watch without the need to subscribe to cable channels. I hope the local networks can also bring these amazing shows back again so that our kids will have time to enjoy these tagalog-dubbed cartoons like how we enjoyed them before.

Happy Birthday Daddy-Yo!

Today's my Tatay's special day but I wasn't able to be with him and the family because I got work and other agendas today, such a stiff Friday. But I went home after a night's shift and sent my son to my parents’ house and brought our gift for my Tatay. At least the old man and the little boy close to my heart is together on this special day, enough to compensate the absence of a daughter known as the father's look-a-like.

Id' like to use this space to thank and honor a great man who have made me of who I am today.  He's the best like everybody's dad out there but He's my only father and He's the only one I want to have should I be born again. I am thankful and grateful to GOD for giving him to us.
